Helen Mary (Christina) Dixon January 13, 2019 Helen Mary (Christina) Dixon, 82, died peacefully Sunday, January 13, 2019 in Baldwinsville, NY after a full and rich life, with her family by her side. Helen was born on January 1, 1937 in Wilmore, PA to her parents, Stephen Christina and Elizabeth Christina-Sesney. Helen and Donald lived in Lewiston, NY for most of their lives while raising their family. She learned to cook at her mother's side. Helen loved to make Polish/Ukrainian specialties. Her pierogies, peugage, and pastry were family favorites at Easter. She also loved camping with friends and family at Niagara Woodland Campground in Ransomville, NY. Helen and Don traveled the country in their RV for all their retired lives making dear friends in south Texas, Arizona, and Florida. Helen was an accomplished crochet artist and gifted family and friends with these keepsake treasures. Additionally she loved to attend bingo. Helen is survived by her children; Don (Darlene) of Hobe Sound, Fl, Kathy (Jack) Munn of Apache Junction, AZ, Joe of Camillus, NY, Matthew (Heather) of Tampa, FL, Charles (Heather) of Mexico, NY, and Steven (Julie) of Punta Gorda, Fl. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is blessed with brothers, Robert Christina of Summerhill, PA, William Christina, of Sidman, PA, John Christina, of Niagara Falls, NY, Charles Christina of Dunlo, PA; sisters, Irene Wasilenko of Chesapeake, VA, Andrea Podrasky of Portage, PA; and sister–in-law, Carol Dixon of Niagara Falls. Helen was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her brothers Stephen Christina Jr. and Francis Christina; her sisters Catherine Golden and Elizabeth Marchu. Heartfelt thanks go to the staff at McHarrie Pointe, and Silver Fox Senior Center. They were a true blessing to Helen and her family. Each caregiver touched us personally and they will be in our hearts and prayers forever for the love and respect they showed Helen in her infirmity. Calling hours for Helen will be held 11-1pm, Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Gates Funeral Home, 29 W. Genesee St., Baldwinsville, NY, with memorial service directly to follow.
