Mildred "Millie" Ella (Johnson) Jones died on Monday, December 10, 2018 in Moorestown, NJ following a brief illness. Born January 21, 1926 in Solvay, NY, Millie married Dwight V. Jones in 1950, and they moved to Baldwinsville where they raised their family and where she lived for 60 years. Millie retired from Baldwinsville Central School District after serving as an assistant librarian at Palmer School and then administrative assistant at Baker High School. A lifelong Methodist and avid reader, Millie volunteered at First United Methodist Church for many years in the church library, creating the library's first computerized database. She was also a skilled seamstress, quilter and gardener.
Millie was devoted to her family and is survived by her children and their spouses: Linda (Doreen Hodgkin) Jones of Swampscott, MA; Leslie (Neill) Salamack of Northford, CT; Cheryl (William Holaday) Jones-Holaday of Moorestown, NJ; and Vernon (Cathy) Jones of Aiken, SC. Also survived by grandchildren Shawn (Rebekah) Salamack, Brian (Kelsey) Holaday, Eric Holaday, Andrew Jones, and Kelly (Jonathan) Adames; four great-grandchildren, several dear sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Dwight V. Jones, parents Howard H. and Mildred Vandenburg Johnson, and brothers C. Howard, George, Stuart, and Wayne Johnson.
