Sylvester (Silver) Nosewicz, age 92, of Baldwinsville, NY left this earth peacefully on Wednesday, November 8, 2018, at Central Park Nursing Home. He was born on October 4, 1926 in Buffalo, NY to Nicholas Nosewicz and Stella (Daleska) Nosewicz.
Silver joined the United States Navy at the young age of 17 and was stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. On January 25, 1947 he married Muriel Westover. They raised four sons, Douglas, Dennis, David and Daniel. Silver worked in the sheet metal industry for forty plus years.
Silver cherished spending time with his family camping, Sunday dinners, playing pitch and sitting around a campfire in the backyard. He also enjoyed raising homing pigeons, his schnauzers and his beloved pug, Buffy.
Silver is predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Stella, his wife, Muriel and 10 siblings. He is survived by his four sons, Douglas (Joanne), Baldwinsville, Dennis (Deborah), Fulton, David (Laurinda), Baldwinsville and Daniel (Mary), Palm Coast, Fl, nine grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 5 pm - 7 pm at the Funeral Home, 29 West Genesee St., Baldwinsville, followed by a brief service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Humane Society on Taft Rd. in Liverpool, NY. Burial will be scheduled for spring 2019.
