Barbara E. Church

Barbara Elaine Church, 92, of Baldwinsville, New York, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025. Born in Clay, New York to her late parents, Elizabeth (Morgan) and John Kisselstein on January 31, 1933, Barbara graduated from North Syracuse High School at age 16 and then attended Central City Business Institute. At age 19, Barbara married the love of her life, P. Douglas Church. After their marriage, they enjoyed early years together in Florida and Waco, Texas while Doug served in the U.S. Air Force before returning to Baldwinsville. They partnered together in running the family business, R.C. Church and Sons.

Barbara will be remembered as a loving, devoted wife and care-giver to her husband, Doug. They were married 61 years until his death in 2013. She loved to cook and entertain family and friends. Doug and Barbara enjoyed skiing together and brought a love of the sport to their children. Barbara was known for her beautiful smile which to the very end would light up a room.

Barbara is survived by her children, Sarah (Eric) Rasmussen of Baldwinsville, Rebecca Bartlett of Nantucket, MA and Clinton (Jennifer) Church of Vienna, VA. Her great joy were her five grandchildren Oliver, Isabel, and Henry Church, and Grace and Lily Bartlett. They gave her much delight! She is also survived by her brother Harlow (Bonnie) Kisselstein and sister, Joan Foster both of Baldwinsville, as well as several nieces and nephews. 

The family will hold a private service at a later date. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
