Barbara Jane Rall

Barbara Jane Rall, affectionally known as Susie, 80, of Cato, passed away October 20, 2023 at Crouse Hospital. She was born on February 13, 1943, in Syracuse, NY, daughter of the late Elmer and Pearl (Reed) Rall.
Susie loved to laugh and had a passion for helping others. She began her working career at Birds Eye Foods, then transitioned to elder care where she lovingly cared for those at the end of their life, including her own parents. Soon after she found her passion for working with children and began her time at various daycares. In her free time, Susie enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, and quilting. She could often be found reading her bible, napping, or thrifting at garage sales and swap meets. She was known for her warm heart and love of life. She will be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know her. 

She leaves behind her sister and life long best friend, Norene Bartkowiak, her nephews and niece, Paul, Jeannine (Ray) Jesmer, Andrew, Matthew (Carrie), Michael (Carrie), and Joseph, 12 great nieces and nephews along with 5 great-great nephews and niece. All of whom she treated as her own children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brother Herman and brother-in-law Paul.

Calling hours will take place on Thursday, October 26th from 4 to 6pm at Gates Funeral Homein Baldwinsville with a service to follow. A burial service will be held on Friday, October 27th, at 11am, at Belle Isle Cemetery in Warners. Join us in celebrating the joy she radiated by wearing something colorful or your favorite groovy t-shirt.
