Carl D. Green August 29, 2021 Carl D. Green, 92, of Baldwinsville passed away peacefully at home August 29, 2021. He was born in Baldwinsville to the late Burt and Blanche Green. Carl served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his service, he started installing hardwood floors and worked over 60 years mastering his craft. Even after retirement, Carl stayed very active, always working on projects and helping anyone who needed it. He enjoyed spending time with fellow veterans and friends at the Phoenix American Legion and had a passion for dancing and getting out on the floor as often as possible. He had a true zest for life and was always willing to help anyone. Besides his parents, Carl is predeceased by his wife, Philemina, and his brother, Burton. He is survived by a nephew, Leo (Nancy) Bitz, and many dear friends. Calling hours will be Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 5-7 pm at Gates Funeral Home, 29 W. Genesee Street, Baldwinsville. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 am on Friday at Riverview Cemetery, 70 Tappan St., Baldwinsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carl's name may be made to the Phoenix American Legion Post 418, 9 Oswego River Rd., Phoenix, NY 13135.
