Cheryl Lee Bailey, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, 69, of Red Creek passed away Friday, May 31, 2024. Cheryl was born in Lyons, NY on February 17, 1955 to late parents Wade G. Poole and Catherine L. Lapp. She had three siblings, Michael (Elaine) Poole, Joyce (William) Verstraete, and Nancy (Roger) Blondale.
Throughout her life, Cheryl welcomed people into her heart and home, always ready to lend a helping hand to all, including her many pets. She took great delight in spending time with her grandchildren and visiting with family members. Her favorite hobbies included cooking and baking. She loved hosting holiday dinners and trying out new recipes.
When her children were young, Cheryl was active in Boy Scouts and enjoyed camping & going to amusement parks with her family. Cheryl worked as a hairdresser, and owned a cleaning business for many years.
Cheryl was predeceased by her son, Timothy David Bailey, in 2012, as well as her three siblings, Michael Poole, Joyce Verstraete, and Nancy Blondale.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years, Thomas Lamar Bailey, a son, Chris (Katie) Bailey and three beautiful grandchildren, Conner Wade Bailey, Jameson Timothy Bailey, and Elliana Grace Bailey. Cheryl will be remembered by several cousins, nieces, and nephews along with many loving extended family and friends.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 9:30 AM-12:30 PM at Gates Funeral Home 29 West Genesee St., Baldwinsville, NY 13027. A graveside service will be held immediately after calling hours at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at 2932 Warners Rd., Warners, NY 13164. The family will greet guests at the Seneca River Fire Department, 3457 Hayes Rd., Baldwinsville, NY 13027, starting at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
