Clarence J. McLaggan Jr.

Clarence J. McLaggan Jr. (Mac), a proud veteran of the US Navy submarine service, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the age of 76, after a long battle with cancer. At the age of 20, Clarence enlisted in the Navy and valued his service highly and attained the rank of E2. Mac was also a proud member of the VFW and American Legion.

The loving son of Jane and Clarence J. McLaggan, he grew up in Baldwinsville, NY and loved living on the river. Mac was an avid boater, hunter, and fisherman. Mac is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Beverly A. McLaggan, his children Stacey Wood (Jeremy), Michelle Antonini (Ted), Christopher (Crystal) and bonus children Ken (Heidi) and Christine. Mac was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother and friend who will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Loved ones will remember his quick wit, ability to fix anything and his ample supply of jokes.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions to the Syracuse VA Medical Center in his honor.

Calling hours honoring the life of Clarence J. McLaggan Jr. will be held at Gates Funeral Home, 29 West Genesee St., Baldwinsville, from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. A private burial will be at the Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
