Frederick Lawrence Parry, age 67, passed away at the Syracuse Veterans Hospital in the company of his family on Saturday, January 20th 2018. Born May 16th 1950, to Virginia and Lawrence Parry, Fred grew up in Baldwinsville and always maintained a deep affection for the village he was raised in. After high school, he enlisted in the Army. He served his country in Korea where he earned a Purple Heart. He was a man of many trades, interests and hobbies. He loved to learn, to challenge himself and to challenge those he loved the most. He was a conservative free spirit and a collector of all things. He enjoyed nothing more than a glass of scotch and a cigar on his front porch on a warm, Sunset Terrace night in the company of his best friend, Bella.
He is survived by his father, Lawrence Parry; his sister, Susan Acker (Robert) his children, Kathryn Parry, Jonathan Parry and daughter-in-law, Jessica Parry; his nephews, Roger and Randy Acker; his grandson, Liam "Bug Boy" Roland; and his best buddy, Frederick J. Estlinbaum. Wherever you're going Dad, may there be sun and wind for you to sail, may The Beatles be playing in your background and for the love of God, may they know how to make you a decent Manhattan.
Calling hours will be held at Gates Funeral Home in Baldwinsville from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday January 25th, 2018. A memorial gathering will be held in his honor the following day at 2 pm at the Mohegan Manor.
