Janice Chase

Janice Chase, 70, of Baldwinsville passed away peacefully at home in the comfort of close family
on October 9, 2022.
Janice was born November 1, 1951, in Ira, New York, the daughter of the late Merton and Mary
(Smith) Baldwin. Janice is also predeceased by her husband Edward. Together, they were
dedicated to raising three children during their 30 years of marriage.
She enjoyed a career as the elementary secretary at the Cato-Meridian School District where
she retired in 2013, after 30 years. She valued her family, cherished relationships throughout
her life and was a loyal friend to many. She will be remembered for her kindness, witty sense of
humor, laughter, and soft smiles.
She is survived by two sons, Christopher (Becky) Chase of Cato, Daniel (Liz Dincher) Chase of
State College, PA, devoted daughter and son-in-law Emily and John Lester of Baldwinsville, nine
grandchildren; Christopher Jr., Allison, Alyssa, Sam, Katie, Lucy, Madelyn, Kaitlin, Layla; two
great grandchildren Koby and Khloe; sisters Donna (Mike) Hall of Leesburg, FL, and Lori Baldwin
of Ontario, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held Thursday, October 13, 2022, 3:00 PM at Gates Funeral Home, 29 W.
Genesee Street, Baldwinsville.
