Jeffrey Ekross Obituary

Jeffrey Scott Ekross (53) passed away peacefully with his wife Michelle of 28 years by his side at Upstate University Hospital, Syracuse, NY on November 6, 2020 after a traumatic brain injury from a fall on October 27. During his life he struggled with Type 1 Diabetes and other ailments. He is now pain and struggle free and with his parents, grandparents, and Mom-in-Law Deanna in Heaven. Jeffrey was born on August 1, 1967 in Syracuse, NY and grew up in Baldwinsville, NY. He graduated from C. W. Baker High School in 1985. After high school he enlisted in the US Navy where he became a nuclear reactor operator. When his time was served, Jeffrey took a position working as an Instrument Repair Technician at Crucible Specialty Metals, where he worked for over 20 years. After Crucible, Jeffrey worked as a Process Control Technician with ACI Controls for about 7 years. During this time he greatly improved the service and business for ACI. Jeffrey loved the time he spent reading and camping with his family and he was brilliant when it came to dealing with computers. Jeffrey was active at St. Augustine’s Parish where he and his wife Michelle served on the Baptism and Marriage Ministry Teams. Jeffrey is predeceased by his parents, Jeffrey L. and Donna M (Calkins) Ekross. He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Michelle (Bianco) Ekross; daughters Emily and Cicely Ekross, sister Denise M. Ekross, and several beloved Aunts, Uncles and cousins. We will especially remember him when we hear the song "Linus and Lucy" by Vince Guaraldi. A Memorial Mass will be held for Jeffrey at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, on O’Brien Road in Baldwinsville, on Wednesday 11/11/2020 at 10:30am. It will also be livestreamed on the parish website: https://www.staugustinesparish.org/. Jeffrey loved flowers, and contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or any diabetes organization may also be made.
Jeffrey will be greatly missed as a husband, father, brother, and friend. We love him so much!
