Juanita Ames passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 20th, after a long illness. Juanita had a successful professional career in human resources, where she was known for her dedication, compassion, and expertise.
In retirement, Juanita wintered in Florida with her late husband, Charles. She found great enjoyment in these years, filled with warmth and laughter, with their many friends.
Juanita is survived by her children, Kimberly Baker (Tom), Tammy Blanchard (William), and Eric Ames (Renee). Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren: Brandon and Shauna (Kimberly), Gunnar and Chase (Tammy), and Quinn, Claire, and Fiona (Eric). Juanita was a devoted and loving grandmother who relished attending their numerous events and celebrations. She is also survived by her younger brother Richard Durkee (Maryanne).
Juanita was cared for at home by wonderful caregivers, whose kindness and compassion brought comfort in her final days. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for this care.
To remember Juanita in a special way, In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice.
Private burial services are planned for late August.
